Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Financial Operations Assistant to join our Finance team on a 12–Month Fixed Term Contract. This role is pivotal in delivering a high-quality, professional financial operations service across the Group, ensuring robust, compliant, and efficient processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end sales ledger process, including timely invoice generation, receivables maintenance, and resolving customer and sponsor queries
- Maintain accurate accounts receivable records, including allocations, ageing analysis, and account setup
- Perform daily bank reconciliations, cashbook postings, and monitor the Group’s cash position
- Support accounts payable processes, including reviewing ad-hoc payments and preparing payment runs
- Oversee credit card and expense processes, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and continuous improvement
- Lead on process improvement initiatives, identifying efficiencies and enhancing financial controls
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and treasury/accrual-related entries
- Provide training and guidance to the wider business on financial processes and best practices
- Manage and develop the Financial Operations Assistant, including workload allocation, performance tracking, and mentoring
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Proven experience in purchase and sales ledger operations, ideally within a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong understanding of financial operations best practices, including P2P and O2C processes.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively under pressure.
- Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- High level of numeracy and attention to detail, with strong accuracy.
- Confident communicator with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Ability to work independently and lead others, fostering development within a team.
