Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Inventory Controller to support our Finance and Operations teams. This role plays a critical part in ensuring stock accuracy, valuation integrity, and compliance with internal processes and regulatory requirements.
Working in a fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, supporting stock audits, and driving continuous improvements in stock control processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Finance support for stock control, Performing targeted counts in agreed areas of the business using the company’s ERP system, ensuring results are documented, and processes are followed.
- Reconciliation of the stock, ensuring that system inventory quantities accurately reflect the actual physical balances across all locations, and that stock is accurately valued.
- Assist in in planning and execution of full inventory counts and one-off inventory checks, ensuring the company’s ERP is accurately updated in line with this.
- Assist with end-of-life process for stock reaching end of life, and that this is reflected in the ERP on an accurate and timely basis. Responsibility for ensuring all inventory adjustments and transfers is processed in the ERP in a timely manner and physical stock is moved, including scrapping, obsolescence, and other stock valuation updates.
- Control Redundant stock warehouse ensuring all parts moved are documented and in line with FIA Regulations.
- Ensure that stock reports and related KPIs are updated in line with emerging company priorities.
- Assist with investigation on stock discrepancies and ensure that the matter is resolved efficiently.
- Assist with regulatory audits.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Experience in inventory control or stock management (preferred)
- Understanding of standard costing systems and inventory valuation methods
- Background in automotive, aerospace, or similar technical industries (advantageous)
- Strong IT skills, with experience using ERP or stock management systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
- Excellent attention to detail with a strong analytical mindset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, working accurately under pressure
- Proactive problem-solving skills and a self-motivated, organised approach
