About the Opportunity:

Raceforce Global is exclusively recruiting for a Senior Race Engineer on behalf of a highly prestigious and confidential client operating at the forefront of motorsport. This pivotal role offers a unique opportunity to lead the performance optimization of a race car, its driver and team.

Main Responsibilities:

The Senior Race Engineer will assume primary responsibility for one of the team's race cars at events, ensuring its optimal performance and adherence to the regulations.

Key accountabilities include:

Event Performance Leadership - Lead the technical operation of a race car during all event phases, from pre-event preparation through testing and race weekends.

Driver & Team Communication - Assure effective, clear, and concise communication with the driver, engineering team, and mechanics.

Vehicle Setup & Optimization - Oversee vehicle set-up, optimize run plans, and provide direct interaction with the driver to maximize car performance.

Pre-Event Preparation - Organize and execute all pre-event preparation work, including maintaining the vehicle set-up database and determining starting configurations.

Planning & Scheduling - Prepare run plans, detailed test item lists, and comprehensive job lists.

Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work effectively with controls, performance, tire, and strategy engineers, as well as factory-based engineering departments.

Technical Compliance - Ensure the legality of the car at all race events.

Simulation & Analysis - Utilize simulation and analysis tools to maximize performance potential.

Post-Event Reporting - Conduct thorough post-event data analysis and compile comprehensive technical reports.

Tool & Technique Development - Create analysis tools and techniques to further understand and develop car performance.

Best Practice Implementation - Develop, document, and apply best practices for legal, safe, and reliable car operation.

Testing Support - Organize and attend relevant rig tests and testing events, providing essential engineering support.

Development Sessions - Support and assist the team during development (DEV) sessions through performance analysis and report writing.

Profile Sought:

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient individual with a proven track record in top-tier motorsport.

Academic Qualification - Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a closely related discipline.

Experience - Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Race Engineer in high-level international motorsport, specifically within Formula 1, Formula E, and/or World Endurance Championship (WEC).

Technical Acumen - Excellent knowledge of vehicle dynamics, tire behavior, and control systems.

Data Analysis Proficiency - Highly proficient with data analysis.

Simulation Skills - Experience with and understanding of lap time simulation software tools and Driver-in-the-Loop (DiL) simulator environments.

Communication - Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, capable of influencing senior stakeholders and guiding multidisciplinary teams.

Language Skills - Fluent in English.
