We are currently looking to recruit a motivated and skilled
Data Processing Software Engineer to join our world-class
Vehicle Engineering team.
In this role, you will be responsible for the electrical and control systems on the race car, including all sensors and their logged telemetry data.
In this factory-based role the successful candidate will contribute towards the development of bespoke software applications that are used to analyse car telemetry data in real time during race events. Additionally you will be responsible for the development of software applications that reliably provide additional high quality data that is vital for the analysis of vehicle performance.
As a Data Processing Software Engineer You Will
- Run and monitor our data processing software using live telemetry.
- Support our race team from Mission Control in Grove on a rotational basis and react quickly to sensor or data issues when the car is on track.
- Continually search for opportunities for improvement or automation.
- Develop your software engineering skills with support from the team.
- Collaborate with other departments to capture data requirements, for example to aid performance analysis or design and gather feedback for continuous development.
Our Ideal Candidate Is Someone Who Is
- Degree level qualified in a STEM field that involves software development such as Computer Science, Maths, Physics or Engineering.
- Experienced in programming/software engineering through previous roles, projects or placements.
- Proficient in MATLAB and Simulink. C# and Python experience would also be beneficial but not essential.
- Experienced in using products such as ATLAS, vTAG or ATLAS Data Server.
- Able to debug software under pressure.
- Experienced in using advanced programming techniques such as parallelisation, object-oriented programming, profiling or GUI design.
- Experienced with electronic sensors, control systems or ECUs/microcontrollers.
- A team player with an openminded, responsible and constructive attitude.
- Well organised with the ability to clearly prioritise tasks and deliver to agreed deadlines.
