Job Opportunity: Chief Engineer – Single-Seater Racing
Contract Type: Full-Time
Location: Confidential European Base
Championship: Junior Single-Seater
Position Overview
We are exclusively recruiting on behalf of a highly competitive, front-running single-seater racing team. As they look to strengthen their technical department, the team is seeking an experienced, driven, and highly analytical Chief Engineer to lead their trackside and factory engineering operations.
In this pivotal leadership role, you will be the technical spearhead of the team. You will oversee the entire engineering group and liaise directly with the mechanics—ensuring that setup philosophies, car development, car preparation, and race weekend execution are completely optimized to fight for championships.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Direct the overall engineering philosophy, setup direction, and technical development programs for the team's cars.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and coordinate a group of engineers, fostering a collaborative, high-performance, and results-driven environment.
- Pre-Event Preparation: Oversee the simulator program, run-plan creation, and pre-event laptime/DIL simulation work to ensure the team arrives at the track fully prepared.
- Trackside Execution: Act as the ultimate technical authority during test days and race weekends. Oversee race strategy, tire management, and critical on-the-fly engineering decisions.
- Data & Performance: Drive continuous improvement by overseeing data analysis workflows, methodology refinement, and new tool development.
- Cross-Department Alignment: Work closely with the Team Manager and Chief Mechanic to ensure a seamless workflow between the engineering office and the garage floor.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a natural leader with a sharp analytical mind and a proven track record of winning in junior single-seater categories. You must remain calm under pressure and possess the interpersonal skills necessary to extract the absolute best from both your engineering staff and your drivers.
Requirements & Profile:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, or Motorsport Engineering.
- Track Record: Extensive trackside experience in high-level single-seater racing (F2, F3, FREC, etc.). Previous experience as a Senior Race Engineer or Chief Engineer is strongly preferred.
- Technical Expertise: Exceptional understanding of vehicle dynamics, aerodynamics, tire behavior, and race strategy.
- Software Skills: High proficiency in industry-standard data analysis software and simulation tools.
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage, motivate, and develop a technical team in a high-stress, fast-paced racing environment.
- Work Authorization & Travel: Must have the legal right to work in the EU (no visa sponsorship available) and be willing to travel extensively for the international racing calendar.
What is Offered:
- A leading, high-impact role within a championship-winning organization.
- A highly competitive salary package commensurate with your experience.
- The opportunity to shape the technical direction of the team and work alongside the next generation of top-tier motorsport talent.
