Main Duties and Responsibilities
Media & Technology Centre
- Support the electrical systems and infrastructure throughout our technical and broadcast headquarters in Biggin Hill, with on-going maintenance, monitoring and development. This includes:
- Programmed and reactive maintenance of electrical distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, UPS and Generator back-up systems
- Assist with the design, specification and installation of electrical equipment and systems
- Support with data centre and technical area infrastructure, including data cabling
- Provide standby support during broadcast operations and on-call duties
- Commissioning and use of remote monitoring systems
- Testing of electrical installations and equipment, PAT testing and emergency lighting testing. Preparation of testing records and documentation
- Maintain stock levels of equipment spares and consumables
- Prepare equipment and consumables to support F1’s touring installations
- Act as point of contact for any electrical issues or enquiries that may come from F1 staff, broadcasters, promoter staff, suppliers, etc.
Formula 1 Events
- Attend occasional F1 races to support the electrical requirements of F1’s technical operations. This includes:
- Install, commission, and monitor electrical systems, including distribution equipment and UPS systems in the F1 Event Technical Centre and International TV Compound
- Testing of electrical installations and preparation of testing records and documentation
- Install and commission synchronised generators
- Decommission and prepare equipment for transport
- Maintenance and upgrades of power systems
- Provide standby support during broadcast operations
- Maintain stock levels of equipment spares and consumables
- Act as point of contact for any electrical issues or enquiries that may come from F1 staff, broadcasters, promoter staff, suppliers, etc
About You
- IEE BS 7671 17th or 18th edition Wiring Regulations certification
- ECS Card
- JIB Gold Card
- NVQ 3 Electrical & 2330 or equivalent
- AM2 or equivalent
- Industrial and commercial electrical installation work
- Installation of commercial or industrial electrical installations
- Three phase distribution systems
- Lighting and emergency lighting systems
- Specification of electrical installations
- Good general IT skills
