Job Description
As a Composite Laminating Team Leader, you will play a key role in leading a team of skilled composite technologists within our manufacturing operation. You will be responsible for ensuring a safe, efficient and high-performing shift, while delivering the quality, throughput and reliability required to support McLaren Racing's world-class performance ambitions.
Working closely with Manufacturing, Project Management, Internal Logistics and other interfacing departments, you will provide both technical and people leadership, helping to drive continuous improvement, team development and operational excellence across the Composite Laminating department.
What You'll Do
- Lead and coordinate shift activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality and delivery targets.
- Manage workflow, production priorities and capacity planning in collaboration with Project Management and key stakeholder teams.
- Provide strong technical and behavioural leadership, supporting team performance, training and ongoing development.
- Maintain health and safety standards through risk assessments, COSHH management, incident reporting and regular team communications.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, support digitalisation projects and contribute directly on the shop floor when required.
Qualifications
What You'll Bring
- Strong knowledge of composite manufacturing processes, technologies and production techniques.
- Understanding of quality assurance processes and composite part sign-off requirements.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, CAD data, laminate manuals and manufacturing documentation.
- Good working knowledge of production systems and Microsoft Office applications within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading and developing teams in a fast-paced, high-performance setting.
