As our Electronics Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, installation, and reliability of electronic systems that support TGR Haas F1 Team's race and test car operations.
Reporting to the Head of Electronics, you will work closely with Electronics, Reliability, and Mechanical Design teams to deliver high-performance electrical and electronic solutions, supporting vehicle development, reliability, and performance in a fast-paced Formula 1 environment.
What You'll Be Doing
Electronics Design & Development
- Design on and off-car harnesses, electronic units, sensors, and associated assemblies to meet performance and reliability requirements.
- Design FIA, FOM, and supplier component installations, working closely with the Mechanical Design Office.
- Develop electronics systems for instrumentation, data acquisition, and measurement applications.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation and installation information.
Installation, Reliability & Support
- Support pre-season builds, test events, and rig activities, overseeing electronics installations as required.
- Investigate electronics and electrical system faults, generating reports and supporting root cause analysis.
- Work closely with the Senior Electronics Design Engineer, Reliability Engineer, and trackside personnel to resolve technical issues.
- Develop and implement mitigation solutions that improve reliability and performance.
Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
- Contribute to the improvement of electronics installations, design standards, and operational processes.
- Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders across the business to deliver technical solutions.
- Support vehicle performance, development, and reliability objectives through innovative electronics engineering.
What You Bring
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Multi-year experience in advanced electronics engineering within a high-technology development environment.
- Experience with electronics system design, harnesses, sensors, instrumentation, and electronic assemblies.
- Strong understanding of schematic design, PCB layout, and analogue and digital circuit development.
- Good knowledge of sensor technologies and associated support electronics.
- Proven experience in fault investigation, containment, and resolution.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within Formula 1, motorsport, or another high-performance engineering environment.
- CAD experience, including CATIA and/or 3DEXPERIENCE.
- PCB design experience using Altium.
- Knowledge of embedded programming (C) and high-level software languages such as C# or VBA.
- Understanding of F1 chassis electronics system design and electrical integration.
