Step into elite motorsport as a Mechanical Design Engineer - Aerodynamics, where you’ll transform cutting‑edge aerodynamic concepts into high‑performance mechanical components that directly influence our car’s speed and efficiency on track.
We are looking for someone who can:
- Design and develop complex mechanical assemblies, including hydraulic and electro‑mechanical systems used in our Wind Tunnel and Wind Tunnel Model environments.
- Is proficient in CAD, with strong capability in 3D modelling, assemblies, drafting, FEA, motion studies, and electrical routing - ideally using Siemens NX.
- Be confident in applying GD&T to ensure accurate and consistent specification of components.
- Work collaboratively with aerodynamicists, the model shop, and manufacturing teams to translate aerodynamic development requirements into robust, efficient and reliable engineering solutions.
The successful candidate will have:
- Great working knowledge of manufacturing technologies (CNC machining, EDM, fabrication, etc.) and materials, including specifications, mechanical properties, heat treatments, and surface finishing.
- Experienced in FEA modelling and interpretation, with the ability to apply insights effectively.
- A creative, proactive problem‑solver who can generate high‑quality, innovative concepts and is committed to continuous improvement to maximise efficiency and productivity.
- Organised and methodical, with an excellent attitude toward problem‑solving and delivering work right the first time.
