As our Aero Physical Testing & Analysis Engineer, you will play a key role in advancing the aerodynamic understanding and correlation capabilities of MoneyGram Haas F1 Team.
Reporting to the Team Leader of the Aero Physical Testing Group, you will support aerodynamic development through Wind Tunnel testing, data analysis, correlation studies, and the development of tools and methodologies. Working closely with Aero Development, Aero Performance, Aero Engineering, CFD, and Software teams, you'll help turn complex aerodynamic data into meaningful insights that support car performance and development decisions.
What You'll Be Doing
Aerodynamic Testing & Analysis
- Conduct Wind Tunnel realism studies to improve testing accuracy and representativeness
- Define and maintain Wind Tunnel performance metrics and correlation methodologies
- Plan, execute, and analyse Wind Tunnel and bench experiments
- Apply aerodynamic measurement techniques and experimental methods to improve aerodynamic understanding
Correlation & Performance Development
- Perform correlation studies across Wind Tunnel, CFD, track, and test bench environments
- Identify discrepancies and opportunities to improve testing realism and predictive capability
- Support aerodynamic development through data-driven analysis and performance evaluation
Tool Development & Analysis
- Build, maintain, and improve analysis tools, models, and automated workflows
- Apply programming, statistical analysis, and machine learning techniques to engineering challenges
- Ensure tools and models meet quality, documentation, and maintainability standards
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing and analysis methodologies
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with Aero Development, Aero Performance, Aero Engineering, CFD, and Software teams
- Share insights and recommendations to support aerodynamic development
- Build strong working relationships across the organisation
- Contribute ideas and initiatives that improve processes and ways of working
What You'll Bring
Essential
- Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Strong understanding of aerodynamics and fluid dynamics
- Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, C++, or a similar programming language
- Knowledge of mathematical modelling, machine learning, and statistical analysis principles
- Familiarity with data acquisition systems and telemetry analysis tools
- Experience using engineering software and Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent communication skills and strong English language proficiency
Desirable
- PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Fluid Dynamics, or a related field
- Experience within Formula 1
- Familiarity with CFD and CAD tools, including CATIA/3DEXPERIENCE
- Knowledge of advanced aerodynamic measurement and experimental testing techniques
